WHAT IS INJECTION MOULDING?

Injection moulding is a process that has been around since the early 1900's. It is with today's technology has become a cost effective way to produce plastic components but the concept is still the same.

Plastic resin is screwed through the barrel of the machine using a large screw, much like a cork screw. The barrel is continuously heated so when the plastic reaches the end it is in a molten state. The plastic is then injected into a pre-designed mould, when it cools the finished product is ejected. This is of course all fully automated and run by on board computers.

IS MY COMPONENT RIGHT FOR INJECTION MOULDING?

With the advancement of today's technology, the resins available can perform a wide range of tasks. We can mould to colour match your existing products, mould in materials that can be painted, chromed or even powder coated. There are plastics now that are being used to replace alloy die-casting.

We can mould using fibreglass filled plastics, UV rated, foam filled and even silicon added. There are endless possibilities, contact us to discuss the right options for your individual needs.
